Climate Change

Do you want to take action to reduce climate change? The best way is to help your family to reduce fossil fuel consumption. Here’s how!

Drive less: Motor vehicles burn fossil fuels, which accelerates climate change. The less your family drives, the less you are contributing to the problem!

Buy local food: Your food has to be driven from a farm to a supplier to a grocery store to your home. Buying food that is grown locally can save thousands of vehicle miles.

Winterize your home: Fossil fuels are used to heat your home. Preventing heat from escaping through cracks will reduce your family’s contribution to climate change, and will save you money, too!

Turn it off: Fossil fuels provide most homes with at least part of their electricity. Turning off lights when you leave a room can save energy and reduce fossil fuel consumption.

Write your representative: Write a letter to your state and local representatives telling them that you are concerned about climate change. Encourage them to support legislature aimed at reducing climate change.
